On Tuesday, July 10th, McEnearney Associates is a hosting sponsor for an evening conversation on the Amazon Effect. Advanced registration is encouraged as the event is expected to sell out.
Emory Thomas, the conversation’s headline speaker who is based in Seattle, is the publisher and former editor of the Puget Sound Business Journal. He has witnessed the variety of changes–both the improvements and the downsides–that Amazon’s growth has brought to Seattle.
The Greater Washington area presents several possibilities on Amazon’s short list of 20 areas for their HQ2, which is creating quite the buzz. Montgomery County put forth one bid, as did several jurisdictions in Northern Virginia (including Crystal City, a development in Tysons, and a joint Loudoun County/Fairfax County bid). Washington, D.C. put forth four bids.

Amazon plans to create up to 50,000 new jobs and invest up to $5 billion in their HQ2, which would have a significant impact on Greater Washington’s economy and real estate markets.
We invite you to join us for this enlightening opportunity to discuss Washington’s future. You can register here in advance. Registration includes cocktails and hors d’oeuvres.
