Arlandria

Arlandria was heavily developed in the mid 20th century to meet the rising demand of housing from federal workers moving out of D.C. Arlandria is the northern most community of the City of Alexandria.

An integral part of the Arlandrian experience is Four Mile Run Park, which blazes its own little trail in American history. The park borders Four Mile Run Stream, which runs into the Potomac River. During the colonial period and into the 19th century, this stream was used to power several watermills that operated in the area. On a more contemporary note, Arlandria is home to The Birchmere, which hosts an array of world-class musicians in what is billed as one of “America’s Legendary Music Halls.”
