Woodbridge

Woodbridge is located approximately 20 miles south of Washington, D.C. Evidence of colonial history lives on at Rippon Lodge, a mid 18th century plantation that still stands today. Some of Woodbridge’s history is tied to the Neabsco Creek, which provided the necessary resources to establish one of the first iron furnaces in Northern Virginia. Woodbridge’s rural setting was home to a development boom in the mid 1980’s.

Woodbridge caters to its community. The Occoquan Bay National Wildlife Refuge allows residents to explore Virginia’s tidal shores and corresponding habitats. I-95 is Woodbridge’s main thoroughfare. Commuters can pick up the VRE at the Amtrak station on Express Drive. Route 1 and the Prince William Parkway are also major thoroughfares.
