Wilson Blvd

The community of Wilson Boulevard is situated in the western part of Arlington, right next to Fairfax County. The area surrounding Wilson Boulevard was used as farmland during the 1700’s.  During the Civil War, the area played an important role in the surveillance and defense of the capital. Like the other communities of Arlington, Wilson Boulevard experienced considerable growth at the end of the 19th century with the arrival of the interurban trolley lines that branched out of D.C. and into the outlying rural area. World War II brought more construction to all parts of Arlington, including Wilson Boulevard.
